Definitely not lacking in variety or quality but a tad expensive! I thought I'd go here for a cheaper breakfast but wasn't quite the case. I think that must be Vancouver though to an outsider.

I recommend getting an airbnb place just so you can cook meals with the beautiful produce from this market! For market connoisseurs - its not as fabulous as the St Lawrence market in Toronto but it comes close-ish! Fresh pastas, beautiful bread (fig bread is recommended, along w the cranberry and pistachio one fr the bakery in the photo below),... More

We were visiting Vancouver for the weekend and decided to make a trip to Grandville Island one morning on the Aquabus. A quick ride and really fun! Food is amazing at Grandville Public Market and lots of fun shopping as well. I would go everyday if I lived nearby!

What I love about this market is that it's open to the pubic and not just chefs and they will let you buy any quantity you want!

Visited during cold January day. Nice hassle, not too crowdy. Had good atmosphere, no bargain sellers. A lot of fresh veggies and meat, cakes and other sweeties. Had places to eat as well, but didn't try out. A lot of other shops with artisan products etc. Definetly worth of going and would visit again.

Get here early around 9am before the crowds descend. Walked through a few hours later and it wasn't as enjoyable. Arrived from Downtown Vancouver via Aquabus. A small ferry that only takes a few minutes. Was far better than coming by road with great views of the Island and downtown. Car hire was necessary for us as my mum couldn't... More

When we visit Vancouver BC we always make a trip to Grandview Island. The public market is filled with farmers, bakers and more selling their goods. The displays are almost too beautiful to disrupt by buying but you will because the quality is awesome. The bakers, meat and seafood sellers do a great job offering a variety of goods for... More

Seattle's Pike Market pales in comparison. This place has the best of everything and great prices! Everything is made fresh daily, there is so much to see. We took the ferry over, which I would suggest over driving. If I lived in Vancouver, it would be in a condo near the water, and I would visit this market for all... More

Never had this much fun shopping in a market before! The smells, the people and most importantly the food well keep you coming back time after time.

One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere.
