Walked down the front found it to be very loud and full of tourists . The view out in the bay was nice , but didn't like the busy area down there .

We were on the hop on hop off bus and decided to get off and look around. We were not disappointed. We walked around for an hour, taking in the sites and soaking up the atmosphere, then jumped back on the bus.

Most of the large buldings in downtown Vancouver are covered completly with glass. This shining view is spectacular. All shops, restaurants, theaters and cafe shops are within walking distance.

Lovely shops and restaurants to enjoy and wander around. The Cathedral was amazing, even for a Brit who has Cathedrals of over 1,000 years to visit.

We went to Vancouver downtown to grab the shuttle to visit Capilano suspension bridge and we're surprise by it. Full of shops and restaurants it reminded us of the big apple.

Easily done by the Hop On Hop Off bus system which have on-board recordings. Vancouver has a number of culturally different 'districts' which the HoHo system included. Very informative and so easy to hop off and then back on. But they stop running around 7...More

We spent 2 full days walking around downtown... along the shore, through the parks, EATING, taking pics, etc. We found it to be easy, friendly, clean, safe and gorgeous.

Not a very lovely place. A large sprawling industrial city, diverse population. Fine for business travel but not necessarily accommodating to pleasure travelers.

Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is

plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and
corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau

I was there in September and I don't believe Vancouver has much snow. We were told many Canadians retire to that area because of the "warmer" winters. However, Whistler has snow almost all year round. It is about 90 min... More

Vancouver is a "walking" city with great public transit. Whistler is a great little town, but if you only have one day, I would skip it as it's quite a drive there & back. Instead, I would enjoy Stanley, Granville Island... More

I presume you are renting a car, since you have 8 days to tour around I would suggest that you see Vancouver first, google "Sites in Vancouver" and it shows an array of things and places to see. Stanley Park is a must... More
