I walk this beach daily with my dog and i just love it. In the winter it is so peaceful and the mountains and water so beautiful to look at and in the summer a very fun place to play volleyball, suntan and watch the world go by

Such a nice spot to relax and take in the views. There are lots of logs to sit on and with a cup of hot chocolate in hand, it's the most perfect place to be! There are lots of wildlife - you will see lots of loons, canadian geese, seals and eagles!

Jericho is just one of several beaches that stretches along this region and is one of the most popular places to visit, especially in summer. It is typically windy here, so on any given day, you are sure to see small sailing craft, windsurfers, kiteboarders, etc. This is also ideal for strolling, jogging and biking while enjoying the mountain views... This is a good large sandy beach, backed up by well kept parkland. The area is a magnet for cyclists, runners and walkers. The views of the bay are superb, and it is good to have a kiosk serving coffee, ice cream, cookies and hot food. The nearby sailing club is also a great establishment with an attractive menu, where... More

I stopped by while staying at the hostel nearby. Several families were enjoying the quiet coast. It's about 30 minutes from downtown by bus, then a short walk.

Pick a beach, any beach in Vancouver, and it's a gem of a beach with its own biome. Jericho Beach Park (check address: it's really on Point Grey Road) has a newly upgraded concession stand and washrooms/change rooms. Cozy, as in surrounded by other parks, Jericho Beach Park is well maintained and quiet, away from beach volleyball and large picnic... More

Jericho beach has the cleanest water and less crowds of Vancouver beaches. There is a food conc sdion and change rooms. But then walk West past the public beach to the more secluded Bay. You can walk even further to the Jericho Sailing Club which has the best kept secret patio restsurant -- light fare and licensed (delicioys micro brews).

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighbourhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
