I have been traveling to Vancouver for several years. It used to be such a hassle going downtown from the airport by car or cab. No Uber in Vancouver (that's another story) but taking a car downtown is just a mess. Since the SkyTrain the commute has been a very comfortable and predictable journey. Less than 30 minutes including waiting... More

Airport to downtown, take the Canada Line. Downtown to Metrotown take the Expo Line, Commercial Drive to Coquitlam take the Evergreen Line. A great way to see Vancouver without the pressures of driving. Stay away from the high volumes of rush hour and enjoy. As an extra take the Sea Bus to North Vancouver.

Park the car, put on your walking shoes or hiking boots, take public transit! Once I had my Compass Card I could go anywhere in the Lower Mainland. It was an eight minute ride from downtown Vancouver on the Cambie Line to Marine drive and a 5 minute bus ride to my neighbourhood. That would've been a 30 minute drive... More

It's a lovely and very convenient mode of travel in Vancouver. Being a new to the train, it was a bit complicated for me to understand the zones and tickets information and ended up getting one zone ticket while travelling two zones. But, in the end I had to buy the second zone ticket because I was not able to... More

Vancouver has a great transportation system, but beware the difference in fare if you're transferring from the Expo line or one of the buses to the Canada line, which will take you directly to the airport. You need to upgrade your fare on the CL or use a compass card ($6), then just reload it as needed. Compass cards can... More

You really don't need a car. We got around using the sky train and the buses. And, alot cheaper than renting a car!

I love the sky train and wish Toronto had several. Moving throughout Vancouver quickly is a effective manner of travel. Easy stops along the way and a wonderful view of the neighbourhoods we travelled through. A great experience indeed.

The SkyTrain is a great way to get to and from the airport and Robson Sreet. It is inexpensive and quick.

Subways are new to Vancouver compared to New York, Toronto or Seoul Korea . Since fairly new you may get odd hiccup but not to often. Dont forget to tap out when leaving terminal, Seoul Korea has been doing this method for years. This system is not as complex as other subways around world but its a good start nothing... More
