Skytrain offers the quickest and cheapest way downtown. There are staff at the airport station to assist travelers in the purchase of tickets and advise on closest stops to accommodation. Transfer to other lines easy with stations easly accessable with luggage. From the airport it take approx 30 minutes to the Waterfront Station. Excellent value for money.

The train is by far the easiest, quickest and cheapest way into the city from the airport. Really safe and easy, and way better than a cab.

I'd read that the SkyTrain was easy and cheap to get to downtown -- it truly is. Just walk across the covered pedestrian bridge from the concourse (just west of Milestones Grill). I hadn't used their ticket kiosks before but a uniformed employee noticed me reading instructions and got me right through it. Great way to go.

Sky train is an easy fast way to scoot about Vancouver. Using the new Compass card makes it even easier as well as economical. The swipe card can be bought online or at many a shop and can be used on both the bus lines and Sky Train.

Cheap and easy way to get around. Dislike the card system they have in place, once you pay you must then swipe a compass pass all over the place in order to get anywhere. Twice now, I had to pay again to get out as the card simply did not work.

The introduction of the compass card made the use of Skytrain to and from YVR Vancouver International Airport (construction thanks to Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics) more expensive, which did not change for visitors who buy single tickets. Still it's the fastest, safest and most convenient way of travelling to and from YVR airport.

The skytrain is really a convenient way to get to your accommodation from the airport. Its clean and comfortable. I advise buying the compass card and loading money on it for convenience and some discount as opposed to using cash.

When in Vancouver for business I always eschew taxis for SkyTrain - it is fast, clean, reliable and efficient. I have a Compass card that I keep in my wallet to simply refill when I am there. The Canada Line to the airport is fantastic - and when I fly from South Terminal I just take the free shuttle there... More

We could have paid $25 to $30 to take a cab through the streets of downtown and the burbs, but the sky train takes you right there for$6.75 during rush hour and less off peak. There is no highway between the airport to downtown. It's all surface streets and a hundred red lights. Do yourself a favor and take the... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighbourhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
