The Alibi room was recommended to us for the large amount of craft beers on tap and it did not disappoint! The spot is located in the downtown east side and used to be the Taxi Club. The space is cool, with single and family style tables. There is an area downstairs that is a bit darker and a good... More

Cracking bar, great beers ranging from regular IPA to crazy sours! Every palate covered. The range of food is very pleasurable, although I didnt delve much past the tender and tasty wings! - I was there for the beer. Superb atmosphere and I recommend going early as it fills up fast.

First time back in a while and still a good place. Best is summer when they have the windows open and the patio going. The thing that makes the Alibi Room is the food. For a bar/pub the food is a cut above normal and in fact is very good. Good portions and unique food at a fair price. Two... More

I came to Canada to do two things, harvest hops, and drink Canadian Craft beer. And guess what? I'm aaaaall out of hops to harvest. This place is the bomb. Admittedly I did drink some u.s aswell, but it was modern times and it had 'dank' in the description, what am I to do? The selection was very well priced,... More

It's a big industrial space, all steel and exposed brick, and it can get a little noisy especially downstairs. Even if beer isn't your thing, the Alibi Room has a nice wine list (small but perfectly formed) and some cracking cocktails too. The food menu is varied with something for everyone. We had a mezze share plate, a chicken salad... More

Although it's tucked away down the road from the main part of Gastown, The Alibi is a very cool, trendy bar with a massive variety of beers. We didn't eat there but the food all looked good and my wife was happy as there was a good veggie burger on the menu! The decor is sparse and industrial which fits... More

I don't particularly like beer or cider but my companions do. There was an extensive menu for beers, less for ciders and there is also a small selection of red, rose and white wines as well as cocktails. Fratbats are popular where you can sample 4 different beers in 6oz glasses served on a wooden bat. You can mix ciders... More

We stopped here for a few beers after dinner. There was a good large selection of beers. Staff were helpful and polite. Quite a few people were ordering the burgers which looked good.

The Alibi Room is what I would call very hip although that word might be out of fashion these days. It's hard to keep up. Busy, eclectic, lots of different kinds of people - young, old, kids, grandparents. A huge variety of beer and excellent food. I understand from knowledgeable sources that all the food is good but I can... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
