Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place used to be great but we went today and were shamed for not paying the donation, which has never been an issue in the past. We pay when we can and don't when we can't. That's how it's always been there.
They were then very rude to us today and even made one of my kids cry! Looking back at the three incidents they had with us it's actually outrageous how poorly we were treated by staff at a petting zoo. None of us did a thing wrong and they were just repeatedly rude.
We won't be back. Look out if you're poor + assuming the optional donation really is optional. They will find a way to make you pay with your dignity because the staff were nasty there today! We used to love it when my kids were toddlers, but today my kids cried and said it's a scary place. We won't be back.

Arrive excited to take grandkids to see the goats. Abrasive staff blocked the entrance, starting into a bunch of covid questions, then told everyone outdoor masks were mandatory. Staff member was rude, confrontational and no respect in front of little kids. Who ever funds this debacle, especially with the big push for tourism to return, this needs an audit and a refresh. This is not the time for complacency, rudeness and unrealistic health requirements, especially in out door distanced environment.

This is such a fun place to visit, especially if you have young children. There are lots of farm animals to visit and you can pet the goats and groom their coats and watch them skip about, There are lots of places to sit and watch the animals and just enjoy.

As Canada emerges from the pandemic and emergency health orders are rescinded, Beacon Hill Children's Farm continues to follow health guidelines from January 2021. Visitors are not allowed to go inside any of the buildings to view the animals. And if you're dreaming of playing with the goats in the pen, forget it. You must remain outside the fence. Masks required. Save yourself the donation and enjoy the animals from outside the chainlink fence for free, like Victorians have been doing since March 2020.

Even the adults enjoy petting the baby goats. You must be there at around 5pm for the running of the goats! It is by donation for entrance.

We went to this place to see the animals and the petting area with baby goats. The entrance has no fee but They had a nice variety of animals including ponies, rabbits, pigs, sheep, chickens and more. One of the best areas was the area where kids could pet or brush baby goats. They were active and fun to watch. It's not a large area but interesting to see the variety. The types of chickens were particularly interesting. They have signs next to the cages where you get information about the animals you are seeing. There also are peacocks walking around. It's a stop on the Hop on Hop Off buses ore there is parking right next to it.

The place full of animals for kids to have fun. Ponies, goats, sheep, ducks, geese, rabbits, chickens, butterflies, and even peacocks! our son (1.5y.o.) had so much fun! He spent over an hour in the little enclosure where kids can pet and brush goats. we could not get him out of there - our baby did not leave until he brushed EVERY goat :))))))

ATTN: Most importantly, there is no mandatory fee to get in: there is a "suggested minimum donation" of something like $3 for a child and $4 for adult, but you choose what you pay.
