Wonderful little museum for those who want to lean more about Emily Carr and art on the west coast. Make sure you check the schedule before dropping by.

We were first introduced to the art of Emily Carr nearly two years ago and had wanted to visit her house here in Victoria then but the opportunity didn't arise. We were so pleased that we made it this time. This is a gem which has been lovingly cared for making every effort to recreate the house as it would... More

And we would be delighted to see you again. We always have changing exhibits and special events going on throughout the season and all year round we are available for private viewings-unless other commitments such as house maintenance are going on. More

This is a former residence in a quiet neighborhood, several blocks from the downtown waterfront. You will learn about Emily Carr and her work which illustrates the natural history of British Columbia and documents the culture of the First Nations. An added bonus was a exhibition of works by a Vancouver artist and illustrator Jen Burgess, whowe works are inspired... More

We are so pleased that your visit to Emily Carr House was a pleasant and informative one for you. We love being able to showcase contemporary artists such as Jen Burgess and currently also, Andrew Wagner of the Garth Homer Art Studio Programme. We strongly believe that ,as Emily described, we need to offer a "Peoples' Gallery" where locals and... More

Our pedicab driver was so knowledgeable about the Emily Carr House, the fact that ghosts are still known to frequent this property and the grounds were absolutely stunning. It is amazing to hear the history of Emily Carr as one of the original Stakeholders and Artist's that lived in Victoria. Along the side of her home sits what used to... More

Whether you are an artist in your own right on a pilgrimage or just into Victorian homes you must visit the childhood home of Canadian icon Emily Carr to pay homage to this great female artist... they have a selection of some of her writings and art reproductions to bring back with you as a momento or to give as... I finally got to Emily Carr house this summer and found it to be a little disappointing. It is an amazing piece of history but there was very little information about Emily Carr herself and very little of her artwork. The main artwork for sale was by someone else. I guess I just had a different idea of what would... More

We are sorry that you were a little disappointed in your visit with us. Although we have had original Emily Carr paintings here in the past it is of course always a balance as to controlling the right museum standard controls regarding the environment for such delicate works and we only have one small room in this lovely old Victorian... This house provides a good introduction to the life and career of author and artist Emily Carr, who is probably not as well known as she deserves to be (at least outside of Canada). The 30-minute video on Carr, Georgia O'Keefe and Frida Kahlo is worth watching, very well done. Don't come here expecting to see Carr's paintings though; apparently... More

If you like Emily Carr this is a must. It is not earth shaking but it is a wonderful piece of Victoria/Canadian history. The residents are always friendly and willing to answer questions and they always seem busy working on something. It is well kept up and worth the 30-60 minute visit.
