Yes, some Christians still celebrate Ascension Day on Thursday. This is one feast the world can't take from the Church and exploit, like Christmas and Easter. It stands on it's own purpose! Ideally located in Victoria, I say, go and meet the friendly people, hear...More

This is a local church landmark. But at the end of the day, it is a church. A bit of nice architecture and history, but not much more.

Unfortunately the Church wasn't open when I visited so I just had to settle for a few photos from the outside - across the street was best.

Victoria is known for its historic buildings and beautiful architecture. I made it a point of seeing all the lovely cathedrals. This one was buttoned up tight despite a sign that said visitors were welcome. I was only allowed to stare, sadly, from the outside.

I've been to this church for countless community events. The pews are not very comfortable, so if you have a sore back, bring a cushion.

We visited St John the Divine Anglican Church when we were in Victoria. It is a historic church and continues to be a very active one in the Victoria area. They also provide food bank services.

This historic church is located in the dowtown area on Quadra Street. Church service was enjoyed by all of the family members attending. This building brings back memories of Europian church buildings.
