We stayed at the Study Center in early November while in Churchill on a Polar Bear tour organized by the University of Saskatchewan. We shared the center with a group of mostly Americans on a similar tour organized by the Center. The Center is well away for the town right in Polar Bear country. We saw several bears adjacent to... The Centre specializes in learning experiences for academic groups and the general public. Academic groups come to conduct research in an article environment. The general public can tour the facility and displays related to the northern research projects. There is a cafeteria and a souvenir shop with unique items it is located outside Churchill about 30 minutes drive on good... More

The Lords of the Arctic program through the Studies Center....amazing. Entire week was a joy...meeting folks from abroad, delectable cuisine, thought provoking talks and tours that help one to look outside the box. Rupert was an excellent scholar of bears and the changing environment....a delight to listen to and explore the area. I encourage all to seek this and other... More

What a fantastic educational facility. Really neat look out point and lots of neat information including an aquarium featuring some of the aquatic species found in the bay.

First night with Natural Habitat, we went out to Northern Studies Center and heard Dr. Leanne speak about the numerous projects they are working on and how it relates to the area. We also saw the aquarium and interesting aquatic life (who would have guessed anemones in the Hudson Bay) My sister got to see the first bear while viewing... More

This program surpassed my expectations. Rupert's bear knowledge, specifically, polar bears, is amazing. His lectures and explanations are thorough. He speaks in understandable terms and is passionate about preservation and conservation. The Centre staff are great hosts and tour guides. Safety is always a priority. Sleep quality of the accommodation is good. Meals are balanced and sufficient. There is a... More

We only visited the centre we didn't stay, but if I ever get to go back to Churchill I will. It's a great place with amazing staff and fabulous instructors, everyone was friendly, super knowledgable and very passionate about the centres purposes and the enjoyment of the visitors. We chatted with several visitors who came from all parts of the... More

This was a wonderful place to stay with a pre-arranged group. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The beds were comfortable. The food was good and plentiful. The advantage to staying outside of town was being close to the bears and being able to see the Northern Lights!

We found nothing to complain about in this lovely hotel. The breakfast was very nice and the bedding was so wonderful we ordered a similar comforter as soon as we got home. The staff was also very attentive and accommodating
