We visited this site during the tour we had on our recreation day. The whole plan is painted as part of a theme which runs through the whole town. It is interesting especially when you hear the story behind it.

The C-46 cargo plane can be seen as part of the Churchill town tour. This plane crashed here in 1979; everyone on board survived the crash. It is an interesting stop -- besides graffiti, the plane is pretty much intact

Definitely an interesting stop on your tour of Churchill and Hudson's Bay. While one is driving the Churchill Coastal Road it is one of the main stops (there isn't too far you can go from Churchill). You won't spend hours here and will want to...More

Alex took us snowshoeing to view Miss Piggy, an old cargo plane that crashed. It was full of "junk food", thus the name. We snow shoed for about 1.5 mile to the plane and back. A must see in Churchill. Brrrrrrr

Our tour driver took us here and gave the explanation of how the plane was overloaded and crashed shortly after takeoff, but luckily all survived. The driver was good at telling stories and made it an interesting stop. I am sure if arriving alone in...More

This plane wreck used to be covered with graffiti but in summer 2017, it was painted by an artist as part of the Seawalls Churchill project. Certainly worth driving by for a photo. It's not a macabre scene -- everyone onboard survived the crash.
