Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. The ground floor is dominated by a food court, which is quite unusual for a mall. There aren't a lot of apparel stores and the mall does not carry some of the more popular brands.

We popped in here on a Thursday around noon. There is not a large selection of stores here. It does have several restaurants and a food court. We gave up on the food court due to crowded conditions - went to one of the restaurants instead. When we reached the centre court on the lower level, we were immediately turned... More

okay it has a great fountain - but the rest seemed "forced". It is a nice 3 story building with lots of light - many empty store areas, eclectic retailers (Hott Renfrew and a Staples and until recently a dollar store?) and very few people. BUT it is close to the hotel area downtown and I did go there twice... More

Winnipeg has become a cesspool. Prostitutes, drug addicts, gang members and panhandlers are common place here. It's very sad to see a once vibrant city turn into such a depressing place to live. Unfortunately, you can't walk downtown without being hassled for money and/or cigarettes. This city needs Jesus and fast.

Went here to check it out as we had not been there before. Got some great deals on clothing and a great HMV here. Check out the art store and other unique places here. Tough crowd though. Really gives you a sense of the "other" Winnipeg - maybe the real Winnipeg. Would come back again.

I like this place for shopping, I could find everything I needed and it is so near and convenient. They have cinemas and many many stores.

Just go for yourself. We have been approached by sketchy looking people asking for change and cigarettes multiple times. People look like zombies in that place. Lots of bums and panhandlers in and around the portage place area. The food court is messy and food is poor. No wonder the imax has shut down. Better places to go there. We... More

I'm sure there are nicer malls in Winnipeg. This one is rundown, dirty and clearly isn't maintained. The stores offered are mediocre.

We were rushing from work to evening engagement at PTE and stopped at the Food Court in Portage Place for quick dinner. We were impressed! There were at least 10 (maybe 15!) choices of food types, from burgers to pizza to sushi to Vietnamese to Italian to subs to.... I don't even remember the rest! There were loads of tables... More
