One of Fredericton’s most beautiful and historic areas, Officers’ Square was named one of the Top 10 Public Spaces in Canada! It was a centre of military activity when Fredericton was garrisoned by the British and Canadian Armies. During July and August, it is the site for outdoor summer concerts, the Changing of the Guard ceremony, daily outdoor theatre, and a variety of festivals and events throughout the year.

This is an historic site in Fredericton NB. During the summer they have many activities. Like concerts and craft fairs ,changing of the gourd by military cadets dressed in period costumes. During the winter it is turned into an ice rink for skating and at times outdoor curling. There is also a military museum at the square. If you come... More

You can listen to local music in the evening. Tour the museum and shop local crafts. Or just have a picnic. Winter time skating and with a warm building to enjoy hot chocolate. Enjoy on your own or with your friends, even teens! 😊

Our mistake was not to check dates for the historical events like "changing of the guard" and others. Every event appears to end the last of August. Town had some historical building, but not our cup of tea.

If you ever have the chance to come to Fredericton New Brunswick , a visit to Officers Square is a must. It is right in the centre of the down town area in the Garrison District and there is lots to see and do starting at the museum that forms on side of the old parade square. You can see... More

We usually stop here to sit on the benches when were walking downtown for the day. Good central place to chill after you copped a tims coffee or a convenient snack. Also, since Pokemon go has come out, it's a good spot to drop a lure and chat with other Pokemon's

Bring the kids or just stroll through any time of day and peek into the past. Period dress, lots of interesting signage and an air of what an exciting outpost Fred'ton must have been in days of yore.

We visited Officers' Square a few times throughout the day. We hoped to watch the Changing of the Guard in the morning, but it was cancelled due to rain. However, we caught it in the evening, and enjoyed it. We also enjoyed an evening concert that was free.
