We are currently renovating part of our existing building to provide an enhanced visitor experience, as well as in preparation for joining the new pavilion under construction to the existing facility. Because of the central location of this work, and because of the nature of the projects involved, the building will be temporarily closed to visitors from January 18, 2016, until May, 2016. We regret the inconvenience to visitors, and look forward to welcoming you into our renovated space in May. The Beaverbrook Art Gallery, a gift to the people of New Brunswick from Lord Beaverbrook (Sir Max Aitken), features works by Canadian and British artists and a unique sample of works from international artists. The Gallery exhibits an exciting mix of works from its own collection as well as works and exhibitions on loan from other institutions.

Very nice space. Large gallery with many rooms and displays. The artwork we saw was amazing. Spend a few hours here.

I was rather disappointed with the overall low quantity of exhibits but also the leaning towards the ultra modern which just appeal to me personally. The few classical/impressionist paintings were a welcome relief. I don't expect anyone to agree with me but just be forewarned.

Bits and pices were shut and the main event exhibition was due to open the day we left Frericton but what was there was great (and entrance was free).

This art gallery is certainly worth a visit. Nice small and compact collection. Especially enjoyed the war art - very moving.

If you are looking for Gainesborough's, Dali's and other international artists then stay away, don't go. If you want to see Jack Shadbolt, Arthur Lismer, Alex Colville, Mary Pratt and a host of other Canadian artists the this place is important to visit. During our visit there was a traveling exhibition from the Canadian War Museum of WW1 artists and... More

We had an impression that the gallery contained some classical items e.g. european 'classical' paintings but saw none ; I was told that 2 Gainsborough's were out on loan. Subsequent 'sleuthing' on the internet revealed that there has been litigation between the Beaverbrook family trust that donated some of the original collection and the gallery, which may have something to... Wonderfully clean, open plan and modern interior on the main floor, slightly ruined by a fairly dingy basement floor. The exhibits were, in the main, limited with one of the large galleries dedicated only to the works of the South African artist, Kentbridge. Far, far too many 'prints' of very similar subject. On a personal level, some of the so-called... More

We spent one afternoon here and it was fantastic. The museum is small and well organized. There is a wonderful collection of important Canadian art.

This is worth seeing if you like visual arts - the collection is small but interesting. There's lots of modern art and lots of 19th century representational works too, even a couple of contemporary pieces - so something for everybody. The Dali was out on tour while we were there, but I'm very glad we went. There is a Lynn... More
