not great for weekends or evenings (solo swimmers)
Feb 2020
Don't go on the weekend unless you want to be swarmed by kids everywheeeeere. same with evenings. half of the competition pool was rented out as well so it was hard to find a place to swim. great for kids and families and I have nothing to say about the programs offered but, solo swimmers out there, watch out for after school and weekends. The honest to god best time to go is between 6am-10am if you want some room to breathe.

Best indoor swim facility in the city
Jan 2019
Best place for swimmers in Saint John. Virtually any time the facility is open, one can swim at least 25m if not 50m lengths and rarely have to share a lane.

Swim meet place to be
Jul 2018 • Family
I arrived here for a three day swim meet. After camping in the pedway for three days I must say I enjoyed my time in Saint John. The pool is very close to all things uptown including hotels.

Great pool, terrible customer service
Apr 2018 • Couples
My husband I swim here on a regular basis. First, let me start with the positives: the pools themselves are great. They're Olympic-sized and give lots of room to swim around. The hot tubs (espeically the adult one) is wonderful. The entry fee is on the high side. I realize you are paying for the whole facility, however, I wish there was a cheaper rate just to use the pool.

My main problem with the aquatic centre is the staff. Oy. Never once have we been greeted by a smile or a courteous hello at the front desk. Most of the time they are too busy chatting with each other or members to give us even a glance. One time we had to wait while they spent 15 minutes slowly registering a new member before they would even acknowledge us. The worst was when a lifeguard approached me to take off my swimming goggles which were lightly resting on top of my head. She said I wasn't allowed to wear them because "my head might swell and cut off circulation to my brain." Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not a thing.

This is the only swimming pool uptown, so I guess the staff have gotten complacent because they know most of us don't have an alternative. I definitely think the place needs a customer service overhaul.

My toddler's favorite!
Apr 2017 • Family
We were in town visiting family and this was all my little girl talked qbout all week after seeing it. We went on a Wednesday and it was great. We practically had the entire place to ourselves. None of the slides were open but my little girl didn't even notice because she was having so much fun.

And the two adults would hand her off to enjoy laps, the hot tub, and sauna. All very nice and well kept. We were very happy with our experience!

Great place to swim laps, even if it is SCM!
Sep 2015 • Solo
I wanted to swim laps to stay in shape, and this can be difficult when traveling. Fortunately, the Aquatic Centre is open to the public, is reasoably-priced, and is nice and clean. A short course meter pool is weird to me, though!
It is connected to the Saint John Market by tunnel, which is convenient in bad weather if you want a snack after your swim.
You can bring your own lock or rent a locker for 25 or 50 cents.

Best pool experience
Sep 2014 • Friends
This was by far my best pool experience, I loved the waterslide and the tower to jump from, and the humungous pool. There was so much to do! I was never bored.

Caters to clubs.

The average person has to wade around large groups who seem to feel they own the pool on weekend morning. Don't go there to swim inthe morning on weekends unless you want to be told where you can swim that will not interrupt their social gathering, not to mention their kids are there running wild with no supervision while parents have a swimming social gathering.
