Winter in January. Entering the park you pass Lily Lake where the lake is frozen and several skaters are enjoying the freedom of the incredibly large ice surface. And then onwards past the deserted campground which looks so forlorn without any campers and on to the playground where an abundance playground apparatus absolutely delights our three-year-old grandson and the winter... We've stayed in the campground while visiting Saint John a few times. It is very close to the city but feels like you're deep in the country. The sites are spacious with good services.

Rockwood Park has so many reasons to visit; there are a number of trails, some around the lake which are easy and others which go off in a number of directions with more hills and a bit rougher going. There is also a lovely restaurant where you can stop either before or after your walk to eat something really delicious.... More

Rock wood park is a special place . It is located in the city but you would never know it . The mountain bike trails are very well maintained. It has trails for every ability . The carriage road is great for walking or running. Some hills and beautiful views.

Rockwood is a large park in the city of Saint John, it has swimming, hiking, boating, and ice skating to name a few, it also has a golf course and a zoo in its borders.

The setting is beautiful and it is a nice little spot to stop and have lunch. We were there past tourist season but I would imagine the beach would be lovely on a warm summer day. The lobster and crab roll was delicious.

So much to offer in the heart of the city. Trails for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, biking. Canoes and gear rentals available at outfitters shop. Restaurant on site, several lakes. The pavilion houses locker rooms and a banquet centre. Playground, horse barn, sleigh rides and horseback riding. Swimming in two lakes with lifeguards in summer.
