St Johns, and the surrounding areas are not to be missed. We booked our tour with McCarthy's Party, and it was a complete and fascinating itinerary.

As you are top of the hill you can see why people thought the world was flat. It's just ocean till the curve of the earth takes over. Be prepared for wind and weather but we lucked out on a perfect day!

Took taxi up the hill and walked down leasurely. Well preserved area with great explanations. Must do when in St. John!

See my review on Cape Spear for my incredulous comments on Parks Canada not extending hours for sites during Canada 150. That said, Signal Hill is worth a visit as the view and scenery are stunning. Cabot tower has an interesting exhibit on Marconi as...More

Hike right from downtown St. John's is highly recommended - it's not too difficult, bring water and dress in layers with good shoes. Views are amazing, great to stop and just absorb the true beauty of this place. Abundance of blueberry's all over the hill,...More

Good place to brush up on history and great views of the Narrows, and the city. Looking toward Cape Spear in June, you may just be lucky enough to spy a few icebergs and whales, if you came by car, continue to Cape Spear, stop...More

It's Beautiful, go in the fall and collect blueberries which are spread like a free buffet alongside the cliffs.

Great view! A must see when you visit Saint John's. 👍😀 It can get windy and cool up there... we were lucky to visit on a very warm day. Might be a good idea to bring a jacket along.

Enjoyed this national historical site immensely. The trail from the visitor centre (closed) parking lot is worth the time for beautiful vistas of St. John's harbour and the city. It's well maintained but steep in places and a challenge. Historical plaques along the way and...More

Couldn't get a trip here during our stay (the only company running the trip that afternoon had a broken down bus!), so hired a taxi for 2 hours to see this and Cape Spear Lighthouse - worked out as cheap for two as trip prices,...More

As far as I'm concerned, Signal Hill is a must for the view. The Rooms was good, but exhausting to see it all and if you're not into museums, don't go if you only have 4 days. We took an O'Brien's Bay Bulls boat tour and... More

The tattoo is only on certain days and times. It wasn't on when I was visiting but I would look on their website. I would say no seating - it's in a field. I doubt there are reservations.
