Historic site brings to life that part of Canada's past when conflict between Europe's empire-builders took place on the shore of the Annapolis River.

The main building has a lot of history (including details of the change in control between French and British and the Acadian influence) and was very informative. The outside star shape with steep slopes was interesting and the kids loved climbing the hills. Once you're...More

If you love history and are interested in how life was lived years ago, you have to visit the Fort. We spent a couple of hours there learning about the life of soldiers of that time. Loved it.

Its neat to visit and does give you quite a bit of history, but there isn't a whole lot that is there to see. We managed in less than an hour.

A lot of historical information presented in a relatively small -- stuffy space! Could have more engaging display! Nevertheless great learning experience and lovely grounds for running and take the views!

So much history to learn here. Give yourself a few hours to go through the museum and then walk the grounds checking out the beautiful scenery.

I found this site to be well kept. The information plaques were very informative and it showed a lot of history but there was nothing really different than the many other historical sites. Its worth a visit

We enjoyed walking around the fort. The views are wonderful. The museum itself was informative and we loved the tapestries. My kids loved trying to climb the steep grass hills.

The fort is mostly gone, but what remains was interesting. Signs indicate where buildings used to sit. Worth a visit.

We were short of time, so explored this fort after hours. We walked around the parapets and read about its history - we missed the inside tour of the officers quarters - the only surviving building, but we had enough history.

If you only want to walk on the site, with a leash, I think you can. But if you want a guide you better with no dog.
