History restoration

Local historical society has done an amazing job to preserve this building. Ghost stories in the basement on video are entertaining.

The helpful staff found my own family records, people who had been convinced to come settle from New England after the French Acadians had been expelled from Nova Scotia. This era of history is very... More

They had wills and much other information about my ancestors and I enjoyed my "finds." They are well organized and they know what they have and it's good accurate information. Wonderful place.

Very well done - old home that once was a tavern/inn. Good reproduction furniture, wallpaper, etc. And great info from the volunteers!

On the main street of Annapolis Royal is a museum that was used as a tavern in earl days, which you can visit. They also have records and experts to help with genealogical research.

We had a brief guided tour of the O'Dell House Museum. The guide provided some background on the inhabitants and what they did plus some local history. The entrance is free and it is on the walking tour of Annapolis Royal.

Since we were in Annapolis Royal on a Friday in June, and Fort Anne was closed, we decided to visit this house. It is small but it is free and interesting. The young man who was doing the commentary was knowledgable and enthusiastic. If you have extra time in Annapolis Royal consider going here.

the place is all decked out just like the old fashioned christmas from years ago. Each room is decorated including the people in period costume. They even sing christmas songs. Fun place to go over the holidays.
