We especially enjoyed our stop for an excellent lunch accompanied by excellent live Celtic music at the Celtic Music Interpretative Center in Judique

I play the fiddle so this place is heaven to me. Fantastic scenery, great food and amazing music. Check out a few dances and concerts and you won't be disappointed.

This drive up the west coast of Cape Breton has great views of the ocean and coastline, as well as several places to hop on the coastal hiking trail. Lovely!

So many little towns to visit with great restaurants. Coastline views are incredibly beautiful. Don't just drive thru, stop and spend some time.

Great drive through a wonderful part of Nova Scotia. Scenery is beautiful, and it is sparsely populated. Some pubs have music nightly.

This was the beginning of two summer trips and loved it each time. We fly into Halifax and rent a car. The west coast of CB is one of my favorite places. The scenery, food, locals, music, was all wonderful. We liked this part better than the northern tip and the east side of the island. Two years ago we... More

This route is a pretty unexceptional route. There are some views of the water, but it's often inland. It's the best way to get to some destinations that you might want to reach (Judique, Mabou, and Cabot Links), but there's no reason to go out of your way to take it otherwise.

If you want to hear Fiddle Music you have come to the right place. The Ceilidh trail will lead you into the heart of Cape Breton Music. Stop into anyone of the CoOps or other small stores along this trail, and you can find postings on the info wall for a Ceilidh(gathering) happening somewhere. Better yet ask at the tourist... More

A lot of time and energy has been spent trying to make what is basically a road into 'The Ceilidh Trail'. Some stretches have nice views, but this is Nova Scotia, so really that's a given. It's not that it's terrible, just that it doesn't live up to the PR hype. That said, It's a good (if at times bumpy)... More
