These buildings are a fantastic representation of life on the Halifax waterfront 200 years ago. Imagine the whaling ships and crews docking here after months on the wild North Atlantic hunting the giant mammals, before returning to the grog shops of Nova Scotia. A fascinating experience, not to be missed by visitors to Halifax. Plenty of shopping, restaurants and bars... More

The sketching group enjoyed the time spent on these classic buildings. The added features such as an anchor and other shipping accessories aided in our efforts.

A great area of Halifax to do a walk about. Historic old buildings and unique shops and restaurants for those looking for something a little different.

Shops, restaurants, pubs, museums and ships align the boardwalk. Original buildings from the 1700 and 1800 hundreds. Well maintained and great architecture.

Lots of unique fun shops. Reasonable prices. Good place to find a bite to eat or drink as well. You might see a local street performer as well.

This is a destination for an afternoon outing. Located on the boardwalk along the waterfront and next to the ferry terminal to Dartmouth. There are some small quaint shops, eateries and a microbrewery

These historical buildings remind me of the old buildings in London, England. Many shops and boutiques to stroll. It is located near the Marriott Harbourfront hotel. I can picture strolling around in this area in the summertime, but not to pleasant during the winter.

This wharf has some nice shops and it worth a visit. Gahan - the bar/restaurant at the end is a great place for a drink either inside or out and does great food.
