Great place to visit for a couple of hours for the whole family. Great views of the harbour and the sea approaches to Halifax. Pack a picnic lunch, on a nice day, and enjoy the views.

The redoubt is well worth a visit for the view and the history. Six large guns show why Halifax was never invaded. Great views of the harbour.

We went latish afternoon and there were just a few dog walkers. From the top you get a good view out to sea and can have a very nice walk round the site. Beware there are no toilet facilities.

After a few wrong turns, we found the York Dedoubt Site. It's not very well marked. We enjoyed the walk around the site and the informative plaques.
