Outside of bakeries, there isn’t a good variety of food to purchase for immediate consumption. But there is a huge variety of fresh, local, organic fruits, veggies and grass fed meats to take home and prepare. There are also many local artists shopping their wares....More

The Halifax Farmers Market is such a wonderful place to experience! The food, the music, the artisans...they all come together in a beautiful building on the waterfront. The aisles are nice and wide, accommodating the large crowds. The food vendors offer every type of food...More

We came with high expectations but found most of the booths and businesses closed. Although the building is open 10-5, each individual purveyor may or may not be there. So...many were not, because it was not the weekend. Parking was a hassle. We got a...More

Lots of local artists with different talents. We picked up some handcrafted soaps, cutting boards, Avondale sky wine and lots more!

Would have like to find more handcrafted food or products. But we found inside 2 "craft distilleries", if I can say so. We taste products from only one, cause we've already planned to go visiting the other. We tasted vodkas. Strawberry, maple and maple/coffee. All...More

This is suppose to be the oldest farmers market in North America. Although, we were there on a weekday. Seemed to be half empty, and not overly crowded with people. We always make it a point to visit farmers markets. Pretty standard, which is not...More

While we were visiting during the week, there wasn’t much going on there. However on weekends it is a happening place. There was a really neat booth with inlaid wooden items.

They open early with people queuing at 6.30 am - opens 7 am. There is a large car park near the Cunard centre Pier 23. We arrived by ship so parking wasn't an issue.

There are numerous spots to grab a bite..... but the best spot to eat is up on the roof top.... if it isn't too windy.... or on the steps where you can watch everyone milling around the vendors.
