Just took pictures of it from afar

It's an interesting ferry the way it's shaped. Don't know much about it only took pictures of it from a distance.

As I live here, I used to take the ferry all the time to get back and forth to work/home. It gives an on water view of the great harbour. Specially cool when you pass close by one of the large 900+ ft. long container ships. As Halifax is also home to Canada's East Coast Navy, you can view some... More

The Dartmouth terminal is very clean and updated. It was a comfortable place to wait for the ferry. There was also a very talented performer playing the piano. I really enjoyed the entertainment.

I try to ride the ferry every evening after work. It's a great way to de-stress and gives you a great view of the city. In the winter you can watch the sun set and the lights twinkle during the early evening. In the summer, ride on top, and listen to the sounds of events happening along the waterfront.

It's pretty old fashioned - you have to place coins in a pot and you get a paper ticket - but that adds to the charm. Worth popping on just to see the view back. It's pretty basic so wrap up warm!

When a friend visited a few years ago I pointed her to the ferry to make her way back to her hotel in Halifax. She was thrilled! It was a sunny day and the views of the whole of the harbour, bridges and waterfront of both the Halifax and Dartmouth side are visible. In addition you can see Georges Island... More

Take the ferry between Dartmouth and Halifax for $2.50 each way. If the weather permits - ride up top. The views of the harbour and the shipping are spectacular. Get a great view of the Royal Canadian Navy at home.

I cannot recommend the ferry enough if you want an inexpensive Way to tour the Halifax and Dartmouth waterfronts. You get a wonderful view of the Halifax city skyline as you're leaving Halifax and you can also explore the Dartmouth waterfront which has a very picturesque park and a small peace pavilion. It's the cost of busfare - $2.50.Well worth... More
