Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Made a detour to visit but were a bit let down. For a well known name I expected more. Admittedly, we showed up 10 mins after opening. However the entire place was not ready for anyone to be there.

When we arrived I asked if they were serving yet. The guy rushed to pull chairs down and get himself sorted. We drank a flight of beer in near complete silence. No music and the female server never spoke. When we asked questions, the guy told us he was recently sent here from a winery and that they were recently bought. Disappointing! He didn’t know much about beer at all.

We were hungry but there was no way they were prepared to feed anybody. Not my favourite brewery but good beer. Beautiful old factory- Atmosphere would be fantastic with music, people and a lively staff.

Thanks GRB for offering veggie dogs! We'll be back for sure.

There were a few people visiting and chatting over a beer, some were in for growler refills. You can choose 4 taster sizes on a paddle or by the glass.

Vegan and vegetarian friends, you read that right, they have veggie dogs available. Head on down!

Saw that Grand River was open today and was excited to try a new craft brewery. Unfortunately we were greeted by foul, almost angry, customer service.

When we entered the pub we were approached and a man barked "you want a pint?", when saying we would look at the menu first he scowled, shook his head and left. Really? I dont know if it was a server or the owner, but that is not how you greet a customer.

When we asked the price on a bottle, in the broken fridge by the front door (Fix the fridge door please), the man who was "helping" us said "I dont know, but it comes in cans". Great if we had wanted a can we would have asked for the price on the can.

All in all it was a terrible experience, they could have cleaned up the place a bit, the fridge door not with standing, and stop being rude, there was no need for it.

Will never visit again, and I hope the rude man who "helped" us was not the owner, otherwise things would not bode well for them.

Hi Johnathan, Just want to say thank you for bringing these things to our attention. We're going to deal with this asap. Sounds like you were here on Family Day so we weren't staffed with our usual staff so we promise this will never happen again. That being said, above all, you were not treated properly and that is absolutely unacceptable and we whole heartedly apologize for this. We tend to pride ourselves in being accommodating and hospitable so hearing this is very uncharacteristic of what we normally hear about our staff. Thanks again for this review. If you want to discuss this further feel free to message us on facebook or twitter!

We drive by everyday to work but never stopped in until today. The beer is good, tap room is nice but the staff we met was off putting and creepy. Nice old knife factory is pleasant to enter. Without being mean, the staff gave us a feeling of wanting to leave, one guy, really odd!

So I checked this place out before I came to Cambridge from Newfoundland. It was 2 mins from where I am staying. The guy working the bar Saturday was great. Easy to chat with knew his product well and could talk about the beer he was serving. The beer is really great. A lot of different variety and guaranteed something for every beer drinker from IPA, stout, ales and lagers. The resident dog is also extremely friendly. It certainly should be a stop on your next visit to Cambridge. The flights are a great way to taste 4 different beers and at $7 it doesn't break the bank. There are also cans and merchandise for purchase. Next time I am here I will definitely be back there.

It's hard to write about a place that no longer exists! It was one of the best microbreweries anywhere. Their Plowman's Ale, Millrace Dark, and longer ago, the Enigma Black Lager were among the finest beers you could find. The staff were friendly and knowledgable and the regular visits to refill the growlers were always a pleasure. When Magnotta bought the brewery the operation seemed to improve, but they closed it suddenly, saying that the brewing was moving to another location and that the beers would be available through the LCBO and their own store. The best ones have vanished and the LCBO no longer carries any. A sad loss of an excellent, popular and well respected brewery.

So, this place is local, this place looks great, this place has realy awesome staff, this place has such nice beer, this place has a nice story, this place has plastic cups. Yes you saw that right. Plastic cups. All cups are plastic. The beer comes in a plastic cup.
In all of my time travelling and in every town or city I visit I find the local brewery, and never, ever ever ever, entered a brewery with plastic cups.
Did I mention the plastic cups?
So, great everything except you cant realy go to enjoy a nice beer served in a glass.
What more can be said. Such a pity. I will keep my eyes out for more reviews and once the glasses are brought in, I will be back, and will bring others with me.

And for the love of all things sane, do some advertisign so your lovely beer room is not empty with 3 people in it on a Friday evening.

Stopped by to pick up some beer and was quaintly surprised. Does not look like much from the outside, but quite a spot inside. The server/cashier was extremely friendly and helpful. She walked me through a few selections and I enjoyed them all. Will definitely return in the future.

Really enjoyed our visit to Grand River today. A wide variety of beers from later to a heavy Imperial Stout. Their Resurrection IPA is excellent for winter, crisp and not lingering on the palate. The mocha Stout was really yummy. It's been ages since we've played shuffleboard. I think I got better after the first beer. The Mill Race dark is light in taste and alcohol content. Enjoy your visit there!
