This is our only museum in town, but it is kind of fun too. Especially for kids, or for big kids like me. There is a shop where you can buy stuff from memorabilia, to candy to model trains etc. The museum itself is 2 floors. The first floor covers the most fun stuff, like a train that goes entirely... Nice little museum housed in the stately old railroad station of the past. Considering the importance of rail to this northern community, it is a good fit. Lots of railroad exhibitions that will be a hit with your children. Also for a limited time, an exhibit honouring the history and life of the voyaguer. Items include voyaguer canoes, dress, tools,... This place is small, and although the theme of attractions change, not many items to view, wish it would have been more interesting

It's a nice little museum. My boys love the overhead model trains and making the planes fly around. It's a good stop in and inexpensive.

We blew through this place on Saturday Morning on the way to the Farmer's Market. I think it would be a great place for kids or for Grandad's & grandkids as they have lots of Train stuff for those interested in model trains. They also have a running model train suspended from the ceiling. They have a large display of... More

Educational, but lots of fun things to do here. Explore! My children were teenagers when we visited, and they enjoyed the interactive exibits. Well, so did my husband and me.

We always stop at Discovery North Bay in the summer. It is especially appealing to those whose hobbies include railroading.

The museum is downtown near the waterfront and accessible by bus. There is a nominal fee to enter. The items are changed up from time to time. My only disappointment is that it's not bigger. You can use the under rail walkway to access Lake Nippissing and the Carousels, boat restaurant, etc.

To begin with, this is a small museum in what was once a large prosperous town so don't expect outstanding exhibits but it offers a great environment with plenty of interesting and varied displays. I know if we had our grand-daughter with us she would have enjoyed the interactive activities offered on the 2nd floor. It was very reasonable to... More
