We went to Rideau hall & were fortunate enough to see the Changing of the guards, which was definitely worth seeing. Lovely, beautifully kept grounds. We were also lucky enough to spot some squirrels.

We thought we were being taken to join another tour in progress, but ended up with a private tour with Sara, who was so full of knowledge! The “tent room” and the story behind it was most interesting.

No entry fee, but you have to call ahead to reserve. I don't remember if we had to show ID or not. No parking, so you park on a street in the general neighbourhood and then walk to Rideau Hall.

Hello! There is street parking available in the neighbourhood. We recommend the area around the MacKay/Union St. intersection, which is close to one of the pedestrian access gates to the grounds. Street parking in this area... More
