We ventured down by the locks on our way down to board an Ottawa River boat tour and were fascinated to watch the Parks Canada staff operate to locks to lower a pleasure boat down to the Ottawa River.

I don't know of any parking nearby. I think Byward Market may be the best and most economical nearby.
