With its sandy beach and volleyball nets, children's play park, and family picnic area with BBQ stations, Mooney's Bay is a summertime favorite with locals and tourists alike and home to some of our city's festivals including one of the largest beach volleyball tournaments in the country.

We drive by Mooney's Bay Park almost every day. It's a very busy park and beach all summer long. It hosts numerous events and festivals, including the Hope Volleyball Tournament and the dragon boat races. One very nice feature of Mooney's Bay Park is that the the bicycle paths running through the park connect with other green spaces in Ottawa.... More

The park has a fairly large beach area which is lifeguarded during the summer. There is a canteen and ice cream stand and I think they still have latin music later in the day on the weekends in the summer and people come to dance! There is a huge crazy playground being built nearby but right now the kids always... More

Had a barbecue there with the family. Went down to the volleyball courts and picked up a game of beach volleyball. Easy to get to, parking was ok. Great place in the summertime.

Definitely pure fun in the sun! From a great beach, to volleyball, swimming, stand up paddle boarding, canoeing - you name it, you can do it here! I came with a few friends for a nice day at the beach, and had a great day! There is lots of space, and I noticed lots of couples having picnics etc. Very... More

Great place to gather for swimming, water classes, BBQs, volleyball & a new huge children's play ground [ largest in Canada ]. There's also a fab burger joint with fresh fries & patio seating.

This park has something for everyone. Besides the beach, there are rentals (e.g. kayak, volleyball), a kids playground, sports fields (e.g. tennis, track), take-out food (e.g. burger shack, ice cream) and rowing lanes. The park often hosts special events too, like volleyball tournaments and movie nights. Located along the Rideau River, the park is also linked by paths and bike... More

Having spent my teen years in the area, it was nice stopping by for a nice walk that overlooks the bay and neighboring homes. It was extremely packed with families doing picnics, swimming and relaxing.

This was once a park and beach area with natural settings. Unfortunately, construction has started in the area that has removed much of the parkland ambience.

It is a popular summer destination for swimmers, rowers & volleyball players. The beach is located on the east shore of the Rideau River just south of Carleton University. There are washrooms & change rooms, picnic tables & barbecue pits, tennis courts & play structures. Pay parking (7 am to 6 pm)
