We last visited ~ 15 years ago when it was still called Sibley. Just as lovely as before just bigger trees. We stayed 4 nights and found tons to do. Ranger station has some excellent suggestions (esp a gravel road way up near entrance that heads west to incredible views, a lookout and a hiking train that is exciting and... More

Camped in campground for a weekend in August 2016. Site and bathrooms were clean. Nice hiking trails. Had a mother bear with her cub visit our campsite in the evening and fortunately didn't have any problems with either. When you camp, make sure you keep your site nice and tidy. I left no food (even crumbs) outside, we've never eaten... More

This beautiful Provincial park is a relatively short drive from Thunder Bay and has something to offer for everyone. There are numerous trails for hiking or skiing from very short walks to day-long/multiple-day hikes, from easy and handicap accessible to very difficult/strenuous hiking. The views from the overlooks are absolutely stunning! There is also a nice campground available, but we... More

We went in late September to try out the travel trailer we just purchased. It was very peaceful, great view of Lake Mary Louise, not busy because kids were back in school. We're looking forward to returning in the spring!

We camped at Sleeping Giant over two nights. The park staff are friendly and the campground is very clean. In the fall there were not many campers, which makes for a very pleasant experience. Unfortunately we did not get to hike as it rained while we were there. The water view sites were absolutely gorgeous. I would go back in... More

Heavenly! Anytime at The Giant is delightful, but my favourite is in the Fall. The campground is not that busy - kids back to school - leaves are turning and beginning to fall. You can walk for hours on all the trails, down to the beach and around. Lots of deer to watch as they graze throughout the park. Loons,... More

We rented one of the RV's available on May long weekend. At $140 it wasn't cheap, but the kids (aged 5 and 7) and such a great time. Although there was a shower in the RV, no toilet which I would have expected for $140/night. The beach is incredible, lots of wildlife around (especially deer) and even though it was... More

This was the most challenging hike we've ever done. As you can see from the picture, it's worth it! 27.6 km round trip with a total of about 1500 ft of elevation gain once you factor in the ups and downs. The verticals are tough; Do NOT attempt this hike if you are not in reasonably good condition. And if... More

This park is stunning! With over 100km (60 miles) of trails, there is no shortage of things to do. Many trails are multi-use and you can bike them, and with bike racks at trail junctions, you can combine biking and hiking. It would also be feasible to kayak to many of the backcountry campsites. Most of the park is left... More
