It's funny how the next mine is just an orange fence away! Good opportunity for finding amethyst. Do a lot of digging and find lots of purple gems. Walk around and pick some up without getting dirty! Something for everyone's level of rockhounding!

We had a long trip to the mine but it was worth it.They had lots of rain so there were streams to cross .We got several nice large pieces for landscaping. For some reason we couldn't go to the mine. Bring lots of insect repellent....More

Hey, nice enough people working there but meant for the tourists wanting a "pretty rock" All the public get to do here is sort through the tailings. No one is allowed into the mine pit. All the great specimens are sold through the gift shop...More

Unfortunately, we went to Blue Mist first and got our bucket. Wish we had come here first. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable, the shop has gorgeous examples of amethyst - big, small and some jewelry. The piles of stones to pick are more accessible...More
