Toronto goes from terrifying to invigorating with Golshan as your guide!

I went on the Downtown Toronto walking tour/PATH tour and it was cold and raining and I was running late and I STILL had a great time. Golshan looks 19 but knows the city like someone who has been living there for 50 years. She's also really nice, she helped me get back to my car because I was in... More

Such an interesting tour given by Garry who seemed genuinely interested in the people attending. Took us into hotels and banks and a vault and showed us PATH. If we were here longer we'd be doing another tour with them.

We were the only two that showed up on a rainy day for the Graffiti Walking tour. Our guide was excellent and even though we were frozen after it was one of the highlights of our trip to TO!

Had a great tour with Golshan. She went at a good pace, the stories were interesting, and I also appreciated how they tied into modern times. The pictures on the iPad were helpful and added to the experience. I do wish the tour was a bit longer, maybe half an hour more, to cover more things.

Tim did a great job. He was very personable and fun. Was very knowledgeable about the market. I would totally recommend this tour and wish I was here n town longer to take some of the others.

We enjoyed todays walking tour with Aaron and visited places we wouldn't otherwise find or dare to visit like inside hotels and banks.

The guide was very knowledgeable and nice. The walk is easy and we learned a lot about Toronto. It was really cold but when it was too windy we just went into the PATH. I highly recommend this tour.

This was a fab tour - with loads of history and fun facts about the city covering a large range of subjects. Our guide Goalshan was fab and brought an iPad with pics to help illustrate, which was even better. Not a problem - but it was v rainy and the majority of the tour is outside - if rain... More

Having tried a free walking tour in Chile and loved it, I ventured to Toronto to do the same. I learned about the free walking tours from the net and from the local tourist info guide. We arrived in the central station and met under the large clock tower in the middle. Molly was our guide. A local student who... More

Whether you believe in ghosts or not, the free ghost tour offered by Tour Guys is an excellent one if you like the truth, no B.S., a guide that is knowledgeable, and none of that theatrical stuff. If you like the dramatic kind of ghost tours, then this one isn't for you. The tour is one with a skeptical twist,... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
