A masterpiece of beaux-arts architecture, the historic Royal Alexandra is Toronto's senior theatre and, at 101, never having been converted to any other use, the oldest continuously operating legitimate theatre in North America. The Royal Alexandra is also North America's first truly "royal" theatre - "royal" by patent from Edward VII - named with royal permission for his consort, Alexandra, a Danish princess and great-grandmother of the present queen.

We spent a wonderful evening in a classic but refurbished theatre. There are great restaurants very clos to the theatre. Easy to get to - just off the Gardiner Expressway. Always excellent performances.

Excellent pacing, brilliant use of a well designed set, great puppetry, solid performances by the cast and not a musical. All contained with a great Historical venue that the city of Toronto has never torn down although I am certain they have tried.

North By Northwest is a play like you have never seen before. Clever set and witty backscreening give the production a movie like feel. It's well acted. The music has the Hitchcock touch. The Audience loved it.

A refurbished theatre; beautiful, historic and comfortable. Great plays, too. Come and enjoy the quality theatre and the fabulous ceiling and work done.

Excellent rendition of this iconic story. Acting was excellent but the creativity around the presentation was awesome. I don’t want to give away anything but you will be amazed by the use of different mediums to tell the story. Highly recommend you see this play...More

Not too close to the front Dev. As described on the theatre description- the Mrs Henderson Presents features elegant nudity- but the front few rows on the left of the stage do get quite up close to 'the action', so to speak... More

Hi. I am not sure about any obstruction, but I haven't had a bad seat in the theatre. I would call them if you have questions. There is parking off John St. But also lots in the vicinity. Enjoy the show!
