Canada's majestic castle and Toronto’s premier historic attraction. In 1911, Sir Henry Pellatt engaged noted architect E.J. Lennox to help him realize a lifelong dream, the creation of an Edwardian castle on the top of a hill overlooking Toronto. It took 300 men nearly three years to complete the nearly to 200,000 square foot castle at a cost $3,500,000 (at the time). Situated on 5 acres, Casa Loma was the largest private residence in Canada. Sir Henry Pellatt with his wife Lady Mary enjoyed Casa Loma for less than ten years before financial misfortune forced him to abandon his home. The tour of the castle is self-guided. Visitors can experience the castle at their leisure with the aid of multimedia audio guides.

I was amazed at the beauty of this castle, and found out it is very easy to get separated from my parents, and get lost. The castle has two towers, but one of towers was closed bat the time of my visit. The view of...More

I have taken for granted and forgot how beautiful Casa Loma is, even if you don't pay the around $20+ cover, ( I didn't), just go to the grounds and soak up the amazing atmosphere. Beautiful tended gardens, to the short stroll from Dupont Subway...More

Absolutely brilliant and full of history. The history behind Casa Loma is very interesting as are the rooms. How the other half lived in the early 20th century. Well worth a visit.

We really enjoyed our visit in August. we especially enjoyed the walk up to the roof via the spiral staircase to get a view of Toronto from one of the towers. Both adults and kids would loved this attraction.

Casa Loma is a must see when in Toronto. While you'll wait in line to buy tickets, it is worth every minute. The rooms and stories are spectacular. Don't miss this!

Not very crowded when we went. There are free audio guides available, which provide very detailed descriptions of all the rooms (sometimes more detail than I wanted!). Rooms are well preserved with original furniture and artifacts, only a few replicas here and there. There are...More

We did not have a good experience here. I would NOT ever eat at the restaurant located in the basement ever again in my life. The food was horrible and expensive and we left feeling hangry. For what we paid, I was not impressed. This...More

Not the easiest to get to, but pretty cool place, can't spend too much time there I think, but nice to visit if you need to kill a few hours, do the escape rooms if you can.

You don't necessarily need to book tickets online in advance, but my advice to you is that it is easier and quicker to just book tickets online. A suggestion from experience: have you ever used or heard of a CityPass? It is... More

I would say 2 to 3 hours is a nice leisurely pace. They have a restaurant down stairs to take a break, as well as a small theater that shows a clip about the history of the castle where y o u can also sit.
