Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Try to go to a Cathedral or Basilica when we are in a new city. St. Michaels Cathedral is closer to downtown but under remodel. St Paul's is old and beautiful with a wonderful sounding organ. I don't know why they don't turn the altar lights on because it is beautiful. Only somewhat welcoming congregation

I can't believe I have never been inside, considering it was where my grandmother went to church when she was a child. I went a few weeks ago to see the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir perform, and was blown away by the beauty of the place, the acoustics, and the performance. What an amazing experience. If you ever have the chance to visit when there is a choir singing, please do go. You will be unbelievably impressed.

I had the privilege to visit this church recently. The main purpose of the visit was to go through the Holy Door. The church is really beautiful. However, it was not open to public on Saturday morning. It was supposed to open for the evening mass at 4.30 pm. Fortunately, since there was a wedding that day at 1 pm, my wife and I were able to go in after waiting in the parking lot for two hours.
There is limited free parking available within the premises.
Hope you will enjoy your visit during the Year of Mercy.

My wife wanted to go to Mass and the main cathedral was closed for building work. This basilica was taking the strain so we walked over, the are becoming more and more run down. They have a security guard so that says it all. Nevertheless there was a full house and the singing was very good.

If you're in the area of Power Street, stop in and take a look at this beautifully painted wallpapered church interior. It really is quite stunning. Don't forget to turn around and check out the organ up in the balcony loft.....a beautiful instrument of praise!

I enjoyed attending mass at the basilica. The priest was very "down home" and personable. The mass was well attended by local congregants even though it was the end of the busy summer travel season. They welcomed children into the service with open arms, so the atmosphere took on a very "homey" flavor because of the sounds of children and crying babies in the room. It was a family gathering of believers coming together to worship.
