The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a happening park in the "cool" area of Toronto. If you go, make sure to watch out for the white squirrel. It is very rare to see one and is often good luck if you do.

I live by this park. Great children's playground and splash pad. However, yesterday multiple heroin needles were found in the sand where children play. Today, a drug vile was found in a high-traffic area by the splash pad. More and more tents are popping up close to the children's play areas. If you have children, make sure to inspect the sand and grass for needles. It's a shame that kids can't be care-free in city parks.

For Torontonians, especially hipsters, this is a nice place to come and just sit and read. For tourists, there is absolutely nothing to do.

This park is an alternative in west TO to highpark. Smaller and less busy than highpark but more romantic and ideal for a lunch in middle of fall or summer. The southern part of the park is more beautiful than the north part.

Have fun and bring your dog

This park is located in a residential area of Toronto, perfect for relaxing, people watching and a great spot to walk your pooch as well. Depending on the day, there are often, local artist, vendors and promotions around the park. If in the surrounding area and in need for a ray of sun and a relaxing spot to hang, this is the place to check out. Simply pack your own picnic, or try a local restaurant or food truck in the area!

This is a nice park to spend an afternoon in. There are tennis courts, community pool, there is a farmer's market on Tuesdays. Lots of cafes along Queen st. Bring your bike and/or your dog and/or your baby and/or your tattoos and you'll fit right in.

This park is beautiful! You will often find it populated with the "hipster" crowd as it is the "entrance" to west queen west where art and culture are thriving!

This park is large so it can be easy to get lost but it has an off leash dog park in a valley in the north side. On the west side of the dog park section is an amazing hill to lay on with a beautiful view of the downtown core.

I live in Toronto and this is my neighbourhood park. There is nothing particularly unique about the park: public first come first use tennis courts, playground, off-leash dog run area, skating rink (January and February) and lots of room to play or chill in the sun or shade.

You'll see all sorts here, parents and kids, older Chinese folks doing tai chi in the morning, tons of hipsters, students. Everyone uses this park. There is some degree of tolerance for drinking or smoking pot, but less for being overtly drunk or stoned.

There's an ok, small farmers market Tuesday afternoon and festivals big and small throughout the warm months.

There are tons of coffee shops and restaurants in the area for take out. Lots of garbage and recycling bins. If you're drinking alcohol offer your empties to people wandering around with bags.

For tourists, this is a great spot for downtime and chilling, people watching. Public restrooms in Community Centre.

As with any public park, avoid being there alone once dark. It's a safe park and part of the city, but don't get a false sense of security watching the sunset with hipsters and overstay on your own.

Spring or summer days the park is filled with 20 somethings drinking beers, tanning and talking about the latest venue. It's packed on Weekends and holidays and is quite the spectacle of the best of Toronto's fashion. Of course don't forget the numerous families and puppies.
