I have been a long time Canadian Opera company subscriber. Attending the Four Seasons Centre is a great joy in my life. Rigoletto, Tosca this season were stellar performances. Theatre is great. Acoustics are wonderful. I sit in the 4th ring and enjoy the view of orchestra, staging and wonderful performers. Recently saw National Ballet's Sleeping Beauty performance. Wonderful dancing.

Glass and wood are married together beautifully in the design of this opera house. We are members and enjoy our Saturday nights. The acoustics are fantastic and although we are always in the same seat (Orchestra R), I believe the view afforded by any seat in the house is good. As for the substance of the performances: the quality is... More

The cool, minimalist architecture combines with the warmth of the wood. The acoustics are wonderful, even in the fifth balcony where I often sit. My only problem is that the lights in front of the balcony block my view if I sit in the first row and, if I sit further back, I have to peer around heads.

For several years we have been opera regulars at eh Canadian Opera Company seasons. We took a pass this year because we are sick of the drive into Toronto in the evenings (dangerous and unreliable). I've been to many opera houses worldwide, and it's impressive: intimate, comfortable, incredible acoustics. They hit a home run with this venue!

Have been taking my daughter to events here since we moved back to the city - especially enjoyed Alice in Wonderland last year. World class entertainment

This spectacular opera house is a true mix of the old and the new. Most important is the acoustics which are very good. I have seen many productions of both the Ballet and Opera and just love coming to this gem in Toronto. An experience not to be missed

My group (a choir of 50+ college students) arrived 10min late due to a drop off error, but upon arriving, we were seated immediately in the back of the auditorium in groups going through the giant sound and light locked chambers. The interior is simply stunning. All facilities were clean and very classy, and the staff was very friendly and... More

Modern interior with good sightlines, excellent acoustics, and splendid stage, it's a fine venue for ballet (I don't attend opera). National Ballet of Canada has wonderful productions here of both classical and modern work in an extended fall-winter-spring season.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
