We are not roman catholic, but did enjoy this massive structure's architecture and design as it sits impressively on the hill. Makes for beautiful photographs. There is also abeautiful garden walk path.

St Joseph's Oratory was a beautiful surprise. I didn't expect the place to be so massive and beautiful. A $5 donation is expected on entry for parking but it's worth the trip to the place. It's peaceful and a wonderful place for thought and reflection....More

It was 30 years ago I went to see the Saint Joseph's Oratory on Mount Royale in Montreal built by St. Brother Andre in honor of Jesus Father. In the front there are stairs that my Step-Father's Mother, a devout Catholic would climb up on...More

Very beautiful architecturally. Definitely a must see! I was disappointed only because the souvenir boutique closed early at 5 pm and we missed it by five minutes.

This was quite the attraction. Right from the parking lot all the way to the top it was very interesting. The staff were very friendly and helpful with directions.

This is an amazing architectural structure! I think it is the second largest dome structure in the world and the largest structure dedicated to Saint Joseph in the world. Just a marvel. Even a person who is not spiritual might appreciate the story of this...More

Unless you're a devout Catholic, this site will hold no real attraction. The exterior is bombastic, and the interior architecture is modernist and undistinguished. The votive candles, collection of crutches left by those supposedly cured, and crowds of devotees will most likely strike the unbeliever...More

A great place to go if you are a practicing Catholic. Mass, confessions and spiritual guidance are available all day. There are guidebooks for sale ($2.00) in English that is an arrow guide that explains everything in the Oratory. If you are a believer, a...More
