Visiting the top of the city turned out to be well worth it. The view from the top is gorgeous and the walk towards the top was beautiful during the fall. The leaves and the colors are a thing to be seen! There was construction and the bus didn't take me anywhere near the top so I had to walk... More

This park is lovely... there is a lot to offer between the green parts, the infrastructures, water pounds, cute ice-skating area (more for kids) and view.

This is a free park in the middle of the city. Has spectacular views from the top and one can get there by foot, car/taxi and even by city bus. During winter a lake freezes over so they have outdoor ice skating and groomed slopes for snow tube slides. A great place for kids to get their winter/snow activities on.... More

Well worth the time to drive up here. The view of the city is wonderful. We were there during the day and I wish we could have gone at night to see the city lights.

This is a huge park, very popular with locals. We took the #11 bus and it crawled because of the heavy traffic coming in and out of the areas where people were sledding and cross-country skiing. Since it was late in the day, and the slow bus took much longer than we expected, we didn't have much time other than... More

Staying in Parc du Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
