Amazing views, open spaces, sports, nature, all in the heart of the city. Don't miss it. Skating and x-country skiing in the winter. Wonderful walks year round.

It was very cold and WINDY! Trails were not good for walking with strollers. I would.not recommend going with young toddlers until late spring or summer. Nice view from the Chalet!

I have spent much time in Mount Royal park.Fron ice skating on Beaver Lake to cross country skiing to running the trails through the park down to McGill University, it is wonderful for an outdoors- loving person. Enjoy!

Mount Royal Park is vast. A great place to walk with the family and pet. Going to the top we discover all kind of passages. Lots of families will have a picnic in the summer. It is really lovely!

Even in winter there are hiking trails with a chalet at the top to keep you warm with a snack bar filled with pastries, coffee and hot chocolate.

The views from this park are amazing - love seeing the Olympic Stadium and the city and the water. We thought the views from St. Joseph Oratory were great, but this park is a very short drive from there and the views are even better.

The view of the city from the Chateau is not to be missed, but getting up there and back without a car was an odyssey. I don't recommend doing that in winter, because the trails are still covered with ice that appears to be a...More

We really enjoy our visit there. It's beautiful the view and you can skate, ski and run if you want. It's fun and you can feel the nature really close. There's a bus that goes there. Then you have to walk to reach the viewing.

Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the
tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive
parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an
outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature
walks that cater to every season and level of athlete.
In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and
ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its
pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and

Can someone take a look at this itinerary and let me know if it is realistic? Staying in an airbnb in Montreal and will start the day with bagels from St. Viateur and Fairmount. A must do for our NY family. Continue walking to the monument at Mount Royal for the drum circle. This will be in the summer on a Sunday and we can relax for a bit. Then walk up to the chalet for the view. Continue to the Grevin, perhaps lunch on the way. Any recommendations close by? Nothing fancy just something good we can have on the way? Train/walk/bus to Schwartz for dinner after the museum then home. Im just concerned about all the walking? We will have rests in between so it should be ok. We are a family with 3 teens so no small kids but not exactly the most physical group, lol. I think there is a bus to the top of Mount Royale so maybe that is a better option. Thoughts? Suggestions?
