We were a group of 15. We went for both a amuse-geule creating team competition and the meal. The host took time to teach a few cutting techniques first, then we had separate stations and clear rules. The meal was delicious; the competition was fun.

An absolutely fabulous night with the charming and entertaining chef Jonathan. Not everyone in our group spoke French, but this did not pose a problem at all as the staff were bilingual. What I loved about it: - Jonathan! Seriously, it's hard not to love the guy. - The prep: fabulous information, open to loads of questions. you get a... More

As we had people from across the country coming to Montreal I decided to try this activity. Well it was not disappointing. From the arrival to the last bite this was fun and very interactive. If you have a team of anywhere from 8 to less than 20 people this is something that everyone will remember. We decided on the... More

A group of us from work booked a private class as a team event. The evening started sitting at the long counter with a glass of wine while the chef, David, and his helper, also David, gave us some early tips and explained about the cuisine we were going to cook. The initial part was demonstration but then we all... More

Everytime I come back to the Guilde Culinaire I'm impressed with the amazing service provided by the staff and with the vision of chef Garnier for putting this school/shop/restaurant together. It's heaven for anyone with a passion for the art of preparing and presenting food. In an amazingly simple and accessible setting, you'll learn ways to prepare meals that will... More

I had a 10am-1:30pm class with Nicolas Dutertre a chef from Point G (unfotuntely I forgot the name of his sous-chef that was there also). The class was called 100% macarons du Point G and was given in French. It had 12 participants. First, he demonstrated how to make various fillings for the macarons like a ganache and a caramel... Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
