We did the South tour in the morning, had a quick lunch across the street from the shop followed by North tour in the afternoon. Both equally enjoyable and informative. Do both! Knowledgeable and passionate guides Leah in the morning and Tom in the afternoon make the experience that much more fun and interesting. Great way to get introduced to... More

We went on the Downtown/Old Montreal tour. Our guide Jeff and trainee Elise were amazing. We truly felt like we got to hang with the locals for 3 hrs. Many words can describe our tour. Informative, interesting, hilarious and spontaneous come to mind. Jeff is very proud of his city and it shows in his detailed, easily understood commentary. His... More

Wife and I signed up for a 3-hour bike tour of South Montreal. Our tour group was very small, as it only consisted of 4 tourists and the guide as well as 2 other people from the tour company. The tour company provided well maintained bikes along with water bottles and helmets. While I was a bit nervous at first... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our bicycle tour of Montreal, with Jeff as our tour guide. He was very passionate about his city, and provided the tour group (6) with his expert knowledge of Montreal. The bikes were in good order, and I believe our entire group had a very enjoyable time.

We did both the North and South tours on two successive days (with discount) and they were both excellent. Chantelle guided the North and Geoff the South and both were professional, safety oriented, and enthusiastic about their tour and their city. Montreal is very bike friendly with miles of safe dedicated bike paths. The South had a few more traffic... More

We had a great tour with Martin. It turned out to be a personal tour as we were the only crazies to book a bike tour on a cold Thursday, but we had an amazing and thorough acclimation to Montreal - we learned so much about this beautiful city! Would totally recommend Fitz and Follwell - they were so pleasant... More

Amelie, our tour guide, was delightful and extremely proficient in sharing her great knowledge of Canadian history and cultures. We loved trying various foods including Hungarian, Spanish, and Jewish foods while hearing immigrant stories. Our favorite was a Portuguese dessert, natas. Hopefully, the walking helped negate the delicious calories we consumed!

I was visiting Montreal for the first time with 8 other friends from the states (35-36 years old) for the weekend and we were looking for daytime activities. One of the guys received a recommendation to check out a bike tour through Fitz & Follwell from someone back in the States who said it was the highlight of his visit.... More

Definitely the highlight of our visit to Montreal! We took the 5-hour bike tour on our first day. Tom was a knowledgeable and fun guide, leading us to many interesting places around Montreal. Lunch at the Atwater market, biking along the canal, navigating the downtown Montreal bike lanes, swinging in the interactive exhibit by Place d'Arts, with stops for history... More

Our morning bike tour with Catherine was awesome! Was a great way to get a lay of the land. Catherine was smart, fun and made us feel comfortable on our bikes. Definitely recommend!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
