These 275-foot falls on the Montmorency River tower higher than even the legendary Niagara Falls. The 2013 season promises to be exhilarating for people who will visit Parc de la Chute-Montmorency – Montmorency Falls, the second most visited site of the provincial capital after Old Quebec. The highlight of all the new summer activities is certainly the opening of two via ferrata routes built in the Boischatel fault near the waterfalls. Via ferrata – this is italien for “iron roads”, is an activity accessible to everyone over 12 years old that combines hiking and rock climbing. The two paths are built on the rockface on the eastern side of the waterfall. The less adventurous will also be able to get stunning views of the 83-meter high waterfall aboard the cable car which now runs with sparkling new cabins. History buffs will be glad to know that guided tours are now offered each weekend in the company of Sir Frederick Haldimand, who served as Governor of Quebec from 1778 to 1786 and Mathilde Robin, best known as the Lady in White, who lost her fiancé during the Montmorency Battle in 1759. Guided tours are offered in French or English until Labour Day weekend.

I'v been to Iceland, and this waterfall is still impressive. It shows the natural power of the falls yet has some nice modern amenities (stairs, bridge, lookout points, cable car, zip line, tourist centre, restaurant). This visit, the river was near flood levels. The stairs were not safe to use due to wind and water spray. However, usually they are... More

A short trip from the Old City (15 mins by car) and well worth the visit. The falls are absolutely stunning! We visited 26 Dec in -18 degrees C...it was f-f-freezing but oh, what a spectacle! The frozen falls and surrounding area covered in snow and ice are just stunning. Views from the suspension bridge over the falls and St.Lawrence... More

It's an incredible experience walking so close to the fall. I was able to take incredible pictures. Magnificent natural place to visit. I didn't want to leave the place. The restaurant at the Manoir and the funicular are great to try.

I visited here at 9.30am on a weekday, so it was quiet. I understand it gets a lot busier later and at weekends (it was already getting busy when I left nearly 2 hours later). Entry for me alone was just over $12. I parked and headed up to the attractive house looking for a coffee and maybe something to... More

Lovely short trip by taxi from Chateau Frontenac cost us 35$ then the entrance to the park 6$ and we purchased a return trip on the cable car 12$ each. The views are stunning the falls beautiful and the suspension bridge amazing...but not for the faint of heart. Take the time to visit you wont be disappointed.

The falls are very beautiful. The whole experience was very nice. The cable car ride to the top, the guys getting the zip line ready that went across the falls, too much for me. The suspension bridge across the falls was awesome with great views. We took the cable car back down but there was a trail down the other... More

I live nearby and I still love going there. If you just want to wander it's free but I suggest the full experience of starting at the top, wandering there, taking the stairs down the cliff and going back up with the cable car. Seeing the falls up close is impressive. Note that you will get a bit wet doing... More

We took the 800 bus. It's the last stop. The view of the Falls was amazing. You can get quite close to it. There are nice walking trails around it and a visitor center to the right of the falls. Would have liked to try the zip line, but it wasn't open yet for the season. You could spend 1-2... More
