This museum is smaller than I expected but the exhibits are well done. Some of the artifacts are astonishingly old. The most recent reviews don't mention the fabulous exhibits on the bottom floor so let me say that my 11-year old was thrilled with all...More

The displays really told the story of life in this area. If you are not of Canadian heritage it really opened your eyes to their history. If it is your heritage, what a way to see all that was done to arrive at this point...More

Not much there. Nice facility, friendly staff. Good overview of Canadian history minus the native population which was scarcely mentioned. Several areas closed . Again, nice building.

I had been here in my first visit to Quèbec in 2002 and now in 2015 and I see how better this museum is now. During my first visit few signs and explanations were in English but that seems to have changed now. Great exhibitions...More

Some great exhibits. We were there for the Greek Gods exhibit, but took in all the other exhibits, carriages and "Quebec" as well. Well worth the trip. Not expensive.

This is a very decent museum. The permanent exhibit covering the history of Quebec is well thought out and bilingual. When we visited, there were excellent temporary exhibits about the National Film Board and Contemporary Dance - both were excellent. We spent just under 2...More

This was a great hands-on musem. Perfect for children and adults. They had a whole section on earth-sciences - geology, earthquakes, tornadoes, etc, featuring hands-on explanations of the phenomenon. They also had a great animation exhibition showing the history of the animation industry in Quebec,...More

Yes. There is a coat check on the main floor, right near the ticket counter. You can't miss it.
How much time does it typically take to see the museum? We only have 2 hours available. Merci

approximately two to three hours

Are the displays in both languages? We found that some museums in Quebec have French-only signage which makes the exhibits far less interesting to those who do not speak French.

Yes. the displays in both languages. My french is pretty basic so English was a necessity.
