About
One of Québec’s best-kept secrets and one of the most spectacular view of the Old Town. Located at the heart of Old Québec City, the ride (one-way) takes about 12 minutes. During summertime, discover the marked bike paths located on both sides of the shore: Corridor du Littoral (Quebec City) and Parcours des Anses (Lévis). In winter, the mouvement of the ice on the St. Lawrence River is truly impressing.

- AstrobeemerVancouver, Canada638 contributionsWinter: ferry and ice-breakerIn the winter, the Quebec City ferry acts as an ice-breaker as well, clearing the way for other ships to go down the St Lawrence river and preventing the river from freezing solid. It is quite the experience to be outside and hear the ice crunch below you as the ferry makes its way across to Levis . The ride is is very quick but the views as spectacular during the day or night.Visited January 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 December 2022
- Shirley K7 contributionsFun trip on the ferry to LeviWe took the ferry across the St. Lawrence river and back. Fun to be on the river and to see Quebec City at night. We went at dusk so wasn't completely dark. Evidently schools do this for a fun trip because there were lots of students on there doing the same thing. Inexpensive way to get on the river.Visited May 2023Written 29 May 2023

It’s a 12 minute ride to the other side but unfortunately not much to offer unless you have transportation in Levis. There’s a beautiful home of one of the founders turns into a museum that is a must visit.Visited June 2023Written 23 June 2023

Easy to buy tickets and you have to disembark once you reach Levi. Spectacular views when onboard. Highly recommended. Gave me my chance to be on the St. Lawrence. The price was reasonable. The one way trip is about 15 min, 15 min for boarding.

We had a great experience taking the ferry over to Levis. Based on what I had read our original thought was that we would take the ferry for the views, spend a brief period hanging around at the dock, and then make the return trip.
We ended up grabbing a delicious snack at the cafe just across the street, and then, after talking to one of the local bus drivers, taking the 11A bus for $2 per person for an hour round trip around. It was fantastic. We saw so much of the area. We could of gotten off and visited local churches, shopped at a mall, or spent some time at a park with great views of the St. Lawrence. All in all a great tour for less $20.00 total for the 2 of us.
There does seem to be more happening arond the dock area now with a giant ferris wheel I had not read about.

Hi, we are late in the season for a visit with a 40' RV. I am having a difficult time finding a camping place that is somewhat close and still open into November. My husband cannot walk much can we drive to old town with our toad (long and tall van)?
Many thanks!

We have a 22' RV and just came back from a road trip to Montreal, Quebec City, Eastern Townships, La Malbaie, Tadoussac, and many other places in Quebec. But we took our car, not the RV, and are so glad we did. We couldn't imagine driving our RV in Montreal or Quebec City streets, more or less one that's nearly 2x longer. There are lots of lots of RVs throughout Canada, but we saw virtually none in the urban areas. If you still go, however, there are places in both Montreal and QC where you can park the RV on the outskirts of the city and then either take the Metro (Montreal) or Uber into town. Not sure about their availability in November, but they do exist.

Can I park at the ferry in QC, walk around, and at the end of the day take the ferry, with my vehicle, to Levis?
Coleen O
Halifax, Canada72 contributions
Yes,there is parking on the other side in QC. It’s just more convenient to leave the car in Levis. The rate is a little higher with a vehicle round trip but if you are returning to Levis, it’s most convenient to leave your car. It’s a wonderful little crossing!
