We are so glad you had a pleasing visit to Birdwoods. Everyone loves the Sweet Shop and always comes out of there happier than when they went it! With kind regards, Louise Stobart - Owner
Great food for Papa and my husband, Great shopping for Nan, art for me and the cute lolly shop for the children! 😀 Totally would recommend this place.

Although the food and outdoor ambience are ok, the service left me with a very sour taste in my mouth. I arrived with my mother and 2 sisters to have lunch. It was a beautiful day and we decided to sit out in the garden...More

Oh dear! Not a review we are proud of and we are very sorry you were not looked after in the way that we expect. You are quite justified in feeling unhappy on this occasion, as it appears one of our staff members have let...More
We had the Birdwoods Gallery recommended to us so stopped here for lunch. Found a table outside since it was a warm day and most tables were taken. The Cafe menu was good and varied which resulted in us ordering the chicken and mushroom filo...More

Our favourite kind of review, thank you and we are so glad we were able to deliver a five star experience for you. Everyone here works very hard to make it happen, so I will pass your comments on. Kind regards, Louise Stobart - Owner
As a visitor from Wellington, I was impressed with the shop (lots of interesting wares sourced from Africa but fairly expensive). The outdoor 'garden party' setting was lovely, but because of the chilly wind, we opted to sit inside beside the fire. Lovely! The plunger...More

Thank you for the review - the weekends are very busy at the moment with lots of visitors and new arrivals into Hawke's Bay, so am glad you were looked after well, even if we were under pressure. Best wishes, Louise Stobart - Owner
I had a lovely lunch of a prawn salad. I had the lovely plunger coffee with cream ( yum) and my parents both had a lovely lunch too.

A lovely review! Thank you. Louise Stobart - Owner
I have been to Birdwoods twice recently. First time with a friend and her 18 month old and the second time with my parents. The staff were great, heating food for the toddler and providing a highchair for her. The food both times was excellent....More

Thank you - a lovely and much appreciated review. Louise Stobart - Owner
This is a lovely venue to poke about in and the cakes are extremely delectable. But the coffee is such a let down, both my husband and I were very disappointed in the plunger pot coffee it just didn't hit the spot, what a shame...More

Thank you for your review and we are sorry that we lost a couple of stars over our coffee! The answer to why we don't have a coffee machine is as follows: Over the last 14 years we have been proud to serve Hawthorne Kidnappers...More
I removed myself from the hussle and bussle of home and drove just a few kms down the road to this little place; what a gem, the gallery has some wonderful unique products for purchase from jewellery to serving platters to drinking glasses, they serve...More

We are delighted you were able to come and spend some quiet time at Birdwoods - the Sweet Shop always manages to make one feel better! We are open seven days a week, so do come anytime. Kind regards, Louise Stobart - Owner
The lolly shop is fantastic with many old school lollies on offer. We loved walking around the gallery outside in the garden. The only downside was having to dodge the dog poop on the ground near the eating tables (as it is a dog friendly...More

Thank you for your review and we are sorry about the dog poop. As we are a dog friendly place, it does happen sometimes and we are usually very quick to deal with it. It would have been helpful if you had told one of...More
