ok so its a ski hill and 1 expects bad weather but to have only the use of half the hill 6 out 10 days and getting no money back is a bitter pill to swallow. How would the CEO of Vail resorts like it...More
Skiing with overlooking viewed of Lake Tahoe has been on my bucket list for many years. I was finally able to make that happen. While I wasn't disappointed per se, It wasn't as great as I had imagined it. Obviously the snow conditions can make/break...More
The California side has gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe, the Nevada side has challenging terrain in the Mott Canyon and another nearby area. It’s a sprawling resort and well worth a visit. The downsides are the many flat areas and traverses that are marked as...More
Been skiing Heavenly for several years. I’ve got to say that the views while skiing this mountain are some of the best in the US. The resort is easy to navigate, the mountain is well-taken care of, quick to groom into shape after regular snows,...More

I was a ski instructor at Heavenly and have worked at other mountains in the basin. Heavenly is over priced for lift tickets as well as private and group lessons. Would highly recommend checking out other mountains. Sierra is a great mountain and so is Kirkwood. If your son already knows how to ski and is just wanting to get out there you can hire a local to be his ski buddy for a fraction of the cost. Radios are also helpful to keep loved ones in check. Lessons are great but can cut into playtime. You can also get a transmitter and have him wear that while he’s out. It might be a good tool for him to have as he advances.
