Overview
More
Bowling Green Marsh is on the east bank of the Exe Estuary, within easy walking distance of Topsham and our shop at Darts Farm. It's the main high tide roost for the north of the estuary and one of the best places to watch birds in south-west England. View large numbers of waterbirds at very close range in winter - black-tailed godwits and wigeons feed close to the hide.

Nice hide for viewing if the weather is inclement, but good anyway for viewing Green Shank Whimbrel water fowl. Couple of Car parking spaces for disabled right outside. Else it's a short walk down a hill for nearest parking. A short walk further on you...More

There is a board with the more common birds to be seen, but all the other people there were more than happy to share their knowledge and point out widgeon, curlew, godwits etc. Great views. Easy access. Fantastic for children.

Tucked away from Topsham town centre, the RSPB bird hide is a place of peace and calm to look out upon the various birds that flock to Topsham's marsh. At the weekends you can even get a hot drink there and borrow binoculars. Friendly and...More

Its interesting to visit without actually visiting! Why, how? It can be viewed via a video link and observed from the rspb shop at Darts.

There were plenty of birds and birders when we visited in late September. There is a new garden adjacent to the hide. There is some parking on the lane outside, but there is lots of construction traffic in the area as the site opposite is...More

Quite a nice new looking hide looking over the estuary. Birding was a bit quiet but that was largely due to the time of year.
