This small but innovative museum has excellent displays on the history of the NZ Police. Several of the country's most notorious crimes and their investigations are highlighted. The cultural change in NZ Police over the years is also on display. Worth a stop if you are passing by.

This was fantastic with both my nine and five year olds enjoying their visit. The detective trail was amazing with so many things for the kids to touch and look at.

We went with a group and had the guided tour. A friendly, knowledgeable guide and lots of interesting things to see. Kids would probably enjoy it as well.

The Retiree Club I belong to went on outing in 2015 to the Police Museum. We were taken around and shown all the exhibits which included very interesting crimes from many years ago up to the present time. All the uniforms worn in this century. How they have changed. The whole tour was excellent and well worth visiting.

You will learn all there is about the history of Police force of New Zealand in this museum. The place is just adjacent to New Zealand police college and you can take the bus to the place from Wellington. I spent about 2 hours there as it is not really a big place.

The museum is onsite of the New Zealand Police College, and I really would recommend that if you are in this city to visit. It is filled with a rich history of the NZ police, from it's humble beginnings to now. There is a fun detective activity for the kids and family to do while walking around. There is also... More

The police museum is worth stopping in on if you're in the area. It's free to the public and is set up in two distinct rooms - one of which might not be suitable for younger children as it details stories regarding violent and mass crime. The initial space, though, features a few lighter stories regarding the history an a... More

This was a school holiday visit for the kids but it was very informative and interesting for the grandparents too! The Museum- it's free entry- showcases a lot of memorabilia of our police history, some of the tragedies and crimes and the heroes. There are many photos, weapons, vehicles and more. A good place to spend an hour before going... More

A small collection of interesting evidence from crime scenes. I was amazed with some of the items like homemade weapons. Fun activities for children. A great place to visit on a wet day.
