Great food and wine with outstanding views.
Stylish restaurant attached to wine producing bodega with lovely views over the vineyards.. Our young dry white was excellent. Food was good. Disappointed that their pulled pork speciality lacked any vegetables apart from a couple of lonely potatoes. And the Canaries produce outstanding fresh vegetables… Service efficient and friendly. Recommended.

    Great experience
Beautiful wines and great views. We bought the wine tasting and cheese tour. We arrived 30 minutes ahead so had time to savour a glass of young white. Delicious. The tour started without us which was disappointing as we had told the team where we were sitting on two separate occasions! The guide was informative, the tour interesting and the wine and cheese were really nice. Awkward place to get to and our taxi driver was clearly unsure of where he was going. Would do this again

Great tour and great terrace to taste wine in the sunshine
Wanted to visit a vineyard whilst visiting Tenerife and decided on this one because of eco credentials on producing wine. Lovely old building and great parking. We booked online , for a wine tasting tour with Tapas. Warmly welcomed and asked if we were happy with the choice of tapas being offered that day, they did not offer a vegan choice but did bring out some salted biscuits that my vegan friend could eat. We were invited to sit on the terrace overlooking the vineyard until everyone arrived. We were then gathered up by the tour guide who took us on the tour which showed how the wine was produced , what is done with the waste produce , the cellars where it was stored and the underground bank where collectors store their valuable wine. The building is a real tardis as it goes several floors underground, its a stunning building and lots of interesting things to look at . After the tour we were escorted back to the terrace where we tried a young white and red wine and sweet rose which were accompanied by two savoury tapas and one dessert which although small were very tasty. It was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours sitting in the sunshine chatting and enjoying the wine. Several other people were enjoying the wine and cheese platter and other lunch items which all looked great. There is a small shop which has various gift ideas as well as the opportunity to buy some of the wine you tasted, which we did to enjoy later on in the holiday.

Don't expect much from their wines, but the service was really negligent for us, too.

We had dinner at the restaurant and then took the tasting of 8 wines.

Dinner was fine, but the tasting was extremely appalling and amateur.

The lady at the reception was really insistant that we additionally take the cellar tour for a few euros extra, which we didn't want to do after our dinner.

Then we were simply left at the table with 2 wines in the glasses. The waitresses would occassionally come to fill them up with another wine, only reading out the labels for us (grape, vintage).

They didn't even bother to clean up the table after spilling one glass.

We left after 6 or 7 wines after waiting for ~20 minutes, because our table was simply forgotten.

I'd recommend to avoid this tourist trap. Wines are far from great and their focus is definitely not winemaking.

Views are breathtaking and the restaurant is nice and tidy. Food and wines were tasty, but huge minus was that they charged for bread with out telling about it and the cost was 2,50 per person. The bread wasn't even good, but really dry and hard.

Monje was recommended as a top wine yard of Teneriffe. Visit was okay, but nothing special. An ordinary wine yard. Less than ordinary was the wine tasting and the snack. The wine was mediocre and there was just a small snack served.

This is a sign that you should not eat in the Monje restaurants. Vegetarian options are also poor and expensive.

Go better to the Casa de Vino. There is an interesting museum. Avoid Monje.

We went for the wine & fell in love with the food. From the assortment of fresh breads & jams to our scrambled eggs with jamón Serrano overlooking the vineyards & the Atlantic Ocean...this is the brunch of your dreams. The menu offers brunch options paired with your choice of the local wines.👌🏻 If possible, make a reservation—we just happened to get lucky.

I’m actually still at the restaurant. Read a great review on Fodor’s and Tripadviaor and decided to come here. Fantabulous! View is amazing and the highly recommended pork dish is amazing and homegrown wine was a perfect compliment. It feels as though you are eating in the midst of clouds because you can see the clouds floating around you. You must come here because it will make you feel as though you are in heaven. And the double espresso I had after our meal was perfect

Attractive premises, but very much a case of style over substance. The wines are basic; mediocre and incredibly overpriced for the quality, and the service was also lacking, though not lacking in arrogance! That seemed to be a specialism, alongside ignoring customers.

Skip this place and go to the Casa Del Vino instead. It's only 3 minutes drive from the tourist trap of Bodegas Monje and it stocks wines from all over Tenerife. You'll find the service in the tasting room to be superb and the shop for off sales is excellent.

Nice view and nice staff, a bit stressed though. We hadn't pre-booked a tour or lunch as we drove there ourselves, so we were offered to sit outside and eat, was fully booked indoors (it was overcast and a bit chilly when we were there). We therefore chose to buy a bottle of wine in the shop and then go on.
Recommends that you pre-book guiding and food.

We came to Tenerife on our honeymoon and wanted to get a taste of local food, wine, and culture. We started at bodegas Monje with a tour in english, our tour guide was Caleb and he did a fantastic job! Caleb was very excited to show us around and make sure we had a good time. After the tour we sat down on the terrace and enjoyed house beer and wine with a few different spreads and fresh baked bread, while we waited for the house special “Cochino negro” (roasted black hog). The meat was so tender and delicious. Highly recommend this as it was our favorite meal of the entire trip plus the beauty of el Teide, the vineyards, coastline, and ocean!

We booked for lunch as we visited for a wine tasting last year and enjoyed it so much wanted to return. We went for the pork, cooked to perfection, along with the homemade breads and selection of butters, watercress soup, and a local pudding, similar to rice pudding with spiced apple, all very nice indeed. We also had a bottle of monje drago blanco, a fun wine which I remember from the tastings. The views are breathtaking whilst having lunch on the terrace, very glad we booked, such a lovely place.
