Iguana beach is located a few kilometres away from the city of Chania. You can come here with taxi or bus. The bus stop is located at the "1866 square" and the ticket costs around 1 euro (if you buy the ticket from inside the bus it will be more expessive).

What can you say but just fabulous a true delight to be on. Great sea for swimming the children were loving the shallow clear waters. Plenty of sunbeds changing rooms and toilets.Cafe on the beach and two benches. There was a great guy attending the sunbeds.

Good place to go on a windy day as it is much calmer than other beaches. Good for children with plenty of space and a gentle shelving entry to the sea. Mostly used by local people.

Ideal for a cooling swim, after a morning wandering around Chania Town. Very sheltered water, would be good for snorkelling too.

We popped by in the morning for a little walk and brunch before our flight home. A lovely sheltered and pretty bit of a beach. Nice beach bar although toilets not in great state. Free wifi available. Would have liked to have stayed longer.

If you are staying nearby in Agii Apostoli this beach is well worth a visit - sheltered from the wind and not overcrowded... only let down is the loos which are grim, but there are decent showers and plenty of parking nearby.

Got a bus from Chania Town to this Beach about 20 minutes away. Good size beach with nice sand. The Uguana Cafe is located on the Beach but was very limited with food at this time of the year. Toasted sandwich and coffee was ok.

Sorry, I can't remember the bus number but if you go to the square and ask someone they will direct you. You will find the taxis in the square and I think it was only 7 or 8 euros to go by taxi. Maybe google 'taxi from... More

From the airport, I would suggest a taxi. It is difficult on public transport with luggage and the local buses do not have racks or spaces for it. As Joohn suggested, the fares are reasonable. For day to day movement in and... More
